Dog Was Abandoned In A Box In The Garbage With Her 9 Puppies

In British Columbia, Canada, a person found a sealed package in a garbage and first ignored it until realizing what was inside. The crate was tightly sealed, preventing any possibility of escape for the dog, eventually called Casey, and her nine puppies.

The infants were only a week old, and poor Casey was so frail that she was undoubtedly finding it difficult to care for her family when she was in such terrible health and under such difficult circumstances.

The furry family was taken to a vet clinic by the person who discovered them, where they stayed the night before being sent to the British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BC SPCA).

Unfortunately, Casey and her pups were brought into the care of the BC SPCA Quesnel Branch since there were no foster family willing to take them in at the time.

The BC SPCA’s Lorie Chortyk, general manager of communications, issued the following statement:

There is no justification for leaving a pet to perish. Animal abandonment is illegal, and offenders may face legal consequences.

Casey is currently in a foster home and is very committed to caring for her puppies.

At least seven weeks will pass before Casey and her puppies are ready to be adopted and move into their permanent homes. The BC SPCA is diligently trying to find out who might have abandoned this kind family in such a terrible way in the meanwhile.
