After A Big Social Media Effort, 21-Year-Old Cats Are Transferred

After a big social media effort to find them a new home, the UK’s oldest feline siblings will be transferred at the age of 21. Nikita and Leon, two gorgeous black cats who had been together their entire lives, were regrettably turned over to the RSPCA in Northamptonshire.

Nikita and Leon had a typical family life until being given over to the charity since their relatives reportedly didn’t want to cope with them.

As a result, the RSPCA began an internet campaign to find them a home, which has resulted in hundreds of adoption offers.

In a blog post, the group stated:

At the grand age of 21, Leon and Nikita found themselves in our care. They were transported to be relocated since they are close brothers and sisters…

Although they are both in good health, Nikita has recently been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and requires immediate medical attention. Nikita will be tested with blood tests in the coming weeks to see if she is responding well to the medicine.

The charity team wants these gorgeous kitties to find a new home as soon as possible due to their senior age. Leon and Nikita are a loving pair of kittens that like having their chin tickled and being in the presence of humans.

The following is what the group said:

“They want a home that is very peaceful and, ideally, without children.”

These two adorable felines are thought to be the UK’s oldest living cat siblings, according to study.

They require a place where they may spend their final years of life in peace, despite their typically decent health.

The group has received over 100 inquiries from all across the world after launching the adoption campaign on social media.

RSPCA Northamptonshire adoption team member Julie Clifft said:

It was insane. We’ve received over 100 requests for them from all around the United States, as well as Cornwall and Cumbria.’

Nikita is doing well, but she needs to be near her veterinarian for regular examinations. The shelter workers’ original plan was for them to be adopted close to home, but it appears that this recommendation went unnoticed by a number of individuals.

The following is what the group said:

“We had hoped to keep them together in Northamptonshire, and we are overjoyed that we were able to do so.”

The animal shelter was in charge of selecting the best choice for delivery to their new home after analyzing several adoption requests. Cats grew famous after the book was published, and they were able to capture the hearts of many people.

Although the goal was to find someone to adopt them, the organization’s volunteers were not expecting to get hundreds of applications.

Fortunately for everyone, they did, and they were able to find choices for the right home for these cute geriatric feline twins in a matter of days.

According to the group,

“It’s fantastic because, despite their age, we’ve never stopped assisting animals, and they deserved a new home.”
