Dog Finds His Favorite Toy After His Family Lost Everything In The Fires
Following the recent forest fires in Australia, many of families have had their houses destroyed. The Zagame family discovered that much of their Wairewa house had been destroyed by the fires.
Family members took a trip through their former home to see what had survived. There wasn’t much to cling on to, unfortunately.
Despite the chaos, there was some good news for OJ, the family dog. OJ was overjoyed to see that his favorite toy had survived, and he couldn’t be happier.
After discovering the plush animal amid the ruins, Louisa Cheatley, a reporter for 7 News Melbourne, rushed to Twitter to share a photo of the cute Golden Retriever clutching it in its jaws.

Louise explained:
“‘OJ’ went home today to his Wairewa house, which had been entirely destroyed by fire. In the ruins, she discovered his beloved stuffed animal.’
Katie Zagami’s bridal gown was among the items that survived the fire, in addition to OJ’s cherished toy. While the family is relieved to have found these two objects, they are also heartbroken to have lost their house, and it is difficult for them to be present and see the grief.
The Zagami family’s home was one among 11 homes burned in Wairewa, according to the city’s fire department. Fortunately, the town was evacuated in time, and no lives or significant injuries were lost.
