A Man Saves A Young Coyote From Drowning By Taking Him On A 10-Day Raft Excursion

Outdoor travels, without a doubt, are full of shocks and adventures, such as the one a guy took when he saw a little coyote.

Justin is an extreme sports enthusiast who frequently goes on multi-day rafting adventures on Canada’s Red Deer and Saskatchewan rivers. During one of these journeys, the guy heard what sounded like a dog fight, but following further inquiry, he discovered nothing.

The adventurer went about his work as usual, but while fishing, he heard shrieks for the second time, which was odd to him.

Justin searched around for the source of the scream and leaned in closer to see what it was, but all he saw was a snout protruding out of the water. Without thinking, the man was about to capture something other than a fish, but he couldn’t determine what it was since the water was dark.

Justin came near enough to have a better look, but as he bent down, he slipped into the river’s freezing water. He swam up to the nose he could feel and discovered what critter it was: a coyote cub.

The man was able to climb out of the water and free the small animal, allowing him to reach the beach. The youngster looked to be comatose, and there was no sign of respiration. Fortunately, Justin had prior experience with cardiac resuscitation ( CPR ).

He was able to conduct a modified Heimlich procedure by pushing his abdomen, and after many repetitions, water poured out of the coyote’s snout, allowing him to breathe again.

Because Justin and his newly rescued companion were drenched, the man made a fire pit for them to dry off and warm themselves.

He still had plenty of time for further adventures because he had bought for an unlimited plan for the following 10 days to go rafting; therefore he decided to take the coyote as a friend and care for him for the entire time. The cub and his savior would go on an adventure-filled voyage.

Justin called him Yip Yip, and because he was under Justin’s care, they ate, slept, and cuddled together until the voyage was done.

The father arrived at a location where he was provided with basic facilities and was allowed to phone his wife for advise on the child. He then called many groups in Ontario and Manitoba before contacting the Swift Current SPCA, which provided him with a better alternative.

They notified the Wildlife Rehabilitation Society of Saskatchewan, which finally took care of the youngster and shared the news on Facebook.

She was a Swift Current volunteer in charge of organizing Yip Yip’s transport to his new home, where he will be cared for until he can be restored to nature.

Unfortunately, there are no more images of Yip Yip’s rescue since Justin’s camera was destroyed when he abruptly fell into the water.
