This Dog Stood Guard In A Hospital For 6 Days Waiting For Her Human Who Underwent Emergency Surgery

For more than five days, Maya, a two-year-old Akita Inu dog, has been watching over a hospital. Her human, a 22-year-old woman, had to have emergency surgery after being brought to the emergency room of the Elda General Hospital in Alicante, Spain, with appendicitis.

Maya refuses to leave that spot no matter how hard they try. Maya will not be carried home or diverted from her task despite the best attempts of her human father.

Everything began when Sandra Iniesta, her human, started experiencing severe abdominal discomfort when she, her father, and Maya were traveling home. They had to be taken to the hospital right away, where Sandra underwent an urgent operation to have her appendix removed.

Andrés Iniesta, Sandra’s father, attempted unsuccessfully to load Maya into the automobile. Sandra’s father said, “I think she understands what’s happening and she’s demonstrating that she can be patient.

Sandra, who is still resting from the procedure at the hospital, claims that her dog is simply carrying on as usual in Barcelona. She waits for me at the door whenever I enter a building.

Following the medical staff’s posting of Maya’s tale on their Facebook page, views and gifts from dozens of admirers have been generated by her act of loyalty.

This tale makes us think of Hachiko, an Akita dog that, in the 1920s, escorted his owner to the train station in Tokyo every morning and awaited him there when he got off. Up until the day his human had passed away when he stopped returning. For the remainder of his life, Hachiko persisted in waiting at the railway station.

Recently, we learned the tale of Nego, a dog who waited for his owner outside a hospital for eight months before discovering that he had passed away.

Sandra missed her dog Maya terribly; she was cared for by Sandra’s father and the staff at the hospital and never left the door.
