Trained Comfort Dogs Offer Relief To Victims Of Sunday’s Massacre In Las Vegas And Help Lift People’s Spirits

In order to support the victims of Sunday’s Las Vegas atrocity and to cheer up those in the community who needed it most, more than a dozen trained Golden Retriever comfort dogs landed in Nevada this week. 17 therapy canines and their handlers were getting ready to leave for Las Vegas only hours after the tragedy.

Dogs from all across the country are participating in the group, which is organized by Lutheran Church Charities (LCC); some of the canines came from as far away as Nebraska and Illinois.

Some people had a lengthy trip, but it didn’t stop the dogs from making them happy. The therapy dogs got down to business right away.

The dogs and their handlers have recently toured regional hospitals to meet with injured patients, their loved ones, and medical professionals.

Additionally, the dogs have gone to local schools to cheer up the kids and help them deal with the sorrow this week.
