Dog Can’t Stop Hugging And Thanking The Woman Who Saved Him

Lia Domingo went to the Augusta Animal Services shelter in Georgia to save a pit bull named Peety, but she didn’t think twice to also assist Penny, a one-year-old corgi mix. Penny continued embracing and praising her after being saved.

Deborah Kirkland, the executive director of the rescue center, notified the woman about the hardship the dog was going through while she was there on behalf of The Pixel Fund, a canine rescue organization.

None of the neighborhood rescue organizations wanted to help Penny since she had a damaged eye.

Lia stated to The Dodo:

She was so frightened and unresponsive when I first met her, and it broke my heart. She was alarmed. The first day, she refused to even look at me. She only snorted.

In order to meet Dedee Nystrom, another volunteer taking over, Lia got the two dogs into her car and started the journey to Sparta, Georgia. However, she received a call from the shelter asking her to return since Peety’s family had arrived.

She had to leave Penny behind, but she vowed to return and keep her pledge.

Peety was able to reconnect with her family, but Penny was left alone, so the following day Lia went in search of her. The dog was no longer terrified this time, and she was overcome with emotion at the prospect of meeting the woman once again.

“All he wanted to do was hug me. Even her tail waggled in response. “Oh yes, it’s me, you remember me,” I said.

The dog pounced on Lia in the car and stayed there for the whole of the journey, acting as though she were attempting to give her a hug in appreciation. The woman was moved by Penny’s faith in her, for her part.

She was wailing and saying, “Pet me, pet me,” so I had to drive with one hand.
