Neighbors Unite To Rescue A Dog Trapped On An Islet

A group of caring neighbors get together to plan a rescue effort to save a dog stuck on an islet off the coast of Neuquén, Argentina.

The dog went missing five months ago on Jordan’s island of Cipolleti, and now it has mysteriously surfaced abandoned on the islet. The hunt for the dog named Milo began in October 2020, according to Ivana Malaspina, an animal defender who is involved in the rescue.

Milo had leaped out of Julieta Scaardino’s automobile as they drove through Jordan Island’s Bardas neighborhood.

Since then, the lady has made every attempt to locate him, including publishing a series of articles with his pictures. Unfortunately, it was not effective, but other bathers noticed a dog stuck on an islet and reported it on social media a few weeks later.

However, kayaker Valeria Cilleruelo decided to personally contact Ivana to seek for her assistance in rescuing the animal stuck on the island. Following that, both started a campaign in several Facebook groups to obtain aid rescuing Milo.

They were able to identify Milo’s mother in this manner, who stated that she had been seeking for him for five months and had not heard from him until then. Ivana and Valeria started visiting the islet in a kayak, crossing the waves to get a closer look at Milo and drop him some water and food.

Milo’s mother happened to be nearby when they arrived, and she was able to confirm that it was her lost puppy.

Milo was terrified, frightened, and bewildered, so he ran away every time he spotted them, making it impossible to catch him. Many people of the sector joined the search and the plot to apprehend him, but getting close to him was nearly impossible.

Ivana mentioned that Natalia Larrosa, a well-known canine teacher from Cipolleti, was also involved in the operation and provided various clarifications.

Milo would most likely not identify his owner without being able to scent her after such a long time apart, she stated.

The issue was that they hadn’t been able to make direct contact with the puppy; sightings were ephemeral, and when they got close enough, it vanished into the grasslands.

Milo has a hesitant and anxious disposition, which he has had since he was rescued three years ago from a household where he was abused.

The rescue mission was clear: they needed to catch Milo and return him to his home. However, they required someone with a boat or a boat large enough to transport a cage to carry out the plan.
