Man Wakes Up To Find Entire Family Playing On His Porch

It may have been deemed a nasty awakening if the offenders weren’t so dang cute.

Tim Newton lives in Alaska on a piece of land that borders a vast nature preserve, so he’s used to seeing wildlife in his yard. But one fluffy family of wild felines didn’t simply pass through on this particular morning; they opted to use his porch as their playground. This started while Newton was still sleeping, but he was quickly awoken by a commotion.

“It was just before daybreak. Newton told The Dodo, “I heard some noises; it was like somebody scurrying on the deck.” “When I awoke, I thought to myself, ‘What the hell is that?’ So I slipped on my bathrobe and drew the curtain back carefully. A lynx kitten was right there, 2 feet away.

Sure enough, three or four lynx kittens were enjoying a get-together on Newton’s deck.

Thankfully, he had his camera with him.

Newton described them as “running back and forth, pouncing on each other.” “I began clicking pictures. ‘Wow!’ I said. What unbelievable good fortune. This is the best of them all. ‘This is incredible!'”

Lynx are extremely difficult to identify in the wild, and Newton has only seen them a few times. So getting a chance to picture them up up and personal — from the comfort of his own home — was very exciting for him.

“They were adorable. It was adorable, to say the least “Newton said. “It was incredible.”

But it gets even better.

The small lynx scurried off Newton’s deck and into his yard after a few minutes. He assumed that playtime had ended, even though it had only just begun. Newton heard the kitten’s mother mewing from the grass through his screen door. Then, one by one, all seven of her children returned to his deck, followed by her.

Newton stated, “I’ve never seen so many lynx.” “I was astounded to see so many lynx on my balcony.”

The lynx, hidden behind the screen, didn’t seem to notice him taking their picture. They all remained together long enough for Newton to capture a great family photo at one point.
