On Walks, A Blind Dog Has His Own Guide Puppy That Assists Him In Finding His Way
Tao, a sick golden retriever who regrettably lost his sight to glaucoma last year, now has a ‘guide dog’ in the form of a gorgeous puppy named ‘Oko.’
Tao’s family chose to locate him a furry buddy to help him “see” the world as a result of his illness’s consequence. Oko has known Tao since he was eight weeks old, and the two have built the finest friendship.
Tao and Oko may be seen hiking and participating in other activities in the images they post on Instagram, but we also see Oko guiding his pal.
People are understandably enthralled with the tragic narrative, and they constantly leave a flurry of comments whenever a new photo is posted.
Despite veterinary attempts, Tao’s eyes had to be removed. The poor man had to be operated on several times, yet he made good and astonishing improvement after each surgery.
Melanie Jackson (Mel), Tao’s mother, is quite proud of her brave puppy for surviving all of the processes.
Mel was informed that Tao had a visual impairment and was rushed to the doctor last year in great discomfort. His doctor informed him that his adorable puppy had glaucoma and that he would have to operate on him and remove one of his eyes.
Unfortunately, after an 11-month recuperation period, his second eye had to be removed due to the disease’s terrible effects.
Mel, according to Ladbible, said:
“Glaucoma is a condition in which fluid builds up in the eye and has nowhere to discharge. Imagine a migraine and magnify it by a hundred to get a sense of how much it hurt. It all started in February of this year, when we had a routine morning and everything was good. But you’ll notice when your dog isn’t acting like himself.
Mel went on to say:
“He was in the most excruciating pain I’ve ever seen, so we took him to the vet last night.” ‘You’re going to think I’m crazy, but Tao has lost his sight,’ I whispered as he scratched his face. We had no choice but to remove his eye since the pressure in it was so severe.
Tao overcame his difficulties and, despite being blind, made a successful recovery. He was eager to resume his usual routine.
Mel realized that his dog would want special assistance to get by in life, so he decided to enlist the services of a buddy to assist him and play with him now that he is blind.
Mel stated, ”
“We bought Oko when he was eight weeks old, and they had the best relationship.” Tao pursues him through the fields, and the two share a bed.
When Oko returned home, he felt an immediate bond with Tao and realized that his role would be to guide him for the rest of his life, and the two have become inseparable. Oko has essentially taken over as Tao’s helm on the ship of life, and the two have many adventures together.
Mel, for one, wants to raise awareness about glaucoma in dogs as a result of Tao’s sickness in order to prevent it from occurring to other pets.
