The Sweetest First Wash For A Rescued Baby Elephant

Animals who are helped to change their lives develop a special appreciation for those who help them, but they also begin to participate in activities they have never done before, and when a rescued baby elephant stepped into a small tub filled with water for the first time, he was excited to discover what a sweet bath was all about.

Chaba was born in a cramped concrete pen on the grounds of an elephant-riding camp in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

The boy’s mother was forced to entertain tourists by performing daily shows such as riding a bicycle, painting pictures, and other tricks.

Chaba’s destiny seemed going to be similar, but luckily, rescuers from the Save Elephant Foundation group were able to intervene.

The foundation’s project manager, Ry Emmerson, told The Dodo:

“When our team learned of Chaba’s and BunMa’s plight, we went to the camp to see what we could do to help them.”

When rescuers arrived at the camp, they discovered the young elephant and its mother in a cement enclosure with no food. The mother was also attached to a short chain by one leg, and it was clear that both animals need medical treatment to restore their health.

The charity’s founder took it upon himself to arrange the elephant family’s release, and they were ultimately rescued in August.

The newborn elephant and its mother were discovered in a cement enclosure with no food when rescuers arrived at the camp. One of the mother’s legs was also linked to a small chain, and it was apparent that both animals need medical attention in order to recover their health.

Ry had this to say:

“We thought that walking to our refuge would be safer for them. They arrived at ENP after a two-hour hike and were welcomed with an elephant cake.”

Both animals were content in their new home, and Chaba prepared for his first bath after consuming the welcome cake.

Chaba’s reply astonished everyone because when he arrived near the tub full of water, he had a satisfied look on his face. The four-month-old elephant found one of his favorite pastimes and now likes splashing about in the water.

Ry continued:

Chaba is a water baby to the core! He enjoys splashing around in the water before running back to Mom to reassure her. He now enjoys playing with his ball in the water as his mother eats wonderful fruits.

Both animals are living full lives in the wild, interacting with other animals, searching for food, and playing like they’ve never done before.

Chaba, on the other hand, is always clear that what he enjoys the most is playing with water and splashing in his small pool.
