Real-Life Best Friends Fox and Hound

Tinni, a dog, and Sniffer, a wild fox, are best friends in real life. Sometimes real-life animal friendships are even better than fiction

Tinni lives in Norway with his person, photographer Torgeir Berge, who captures the affectionate connection in these incredible images.

Sniffer and Tinni clearly don’t realize they’re not the same; the two frolic and play as if they’ve known each other their entire lives.

Berge has become a vocal critic of the fur industry, particularly fur farms where foxes like Sniffer are held in tiny cages before being slaughtered for their pelts, after witnessing Tinni’s connection with Sniffer.

“In terms of behavior and disposition, foxes are very similar to dogs,” Berge commented on Facebook. “When I think about the millions of Sniffers… who have spent their entire lives trapped within cages, it brings tears to my eyes in pure sorrow.”

Sniffer (and Tinni) are fortunate in that they have plenty of space to roam together, running through the woods near Berge’s house in all seasons.

Tinni and Sniffer don’t seem to mind that a human is following them around wherever they go – these two amigos only have eyes for one other.
