People Are Having A Hard Time Believing That This Very Tall Duck Actually Exists
One duck stands out among the others at the University of York.
Long Boi, a mallard/Indian Runner duck hybrid, measures 70 centimeters (approximately 28 inches) tall, dwarfing his mallard companions, who grow to be around 24 inches long on average.

Long Boi’s origins are unknown, but the duck with perfect posture has become a campus celebrity.
Since 2019, he has had an Instagram account operated by university students, as well as a line of goods for fans who wish to express their support with a Long Boi T-shirt, mug, or sticker. According to one Instagram caption, the magnificent duck is constantly “Feeling heckin’ löngthy.”

Long Boi’s height, however, isn’t the only thing that distinguishes him from his duck pals.
In an article describing Long Boi’s biological advantages, Natalia Kubala says, “He is simple to recognize owing to his unusual Indian Runner shape and size; long neck, lofty stance, and trademark run.” “Unlike other ducks, which move about by waddling, the Indian Runners run. They take larger steps, which allows them to travel more quicker than other species. This is referred to as a ‘quickstep.’”

Long Boi spends his days on campus grazing by the lake, cleaning his feathers, relaxing in the shade, and eating on seed plucked from people’s hands.
Long Boi recently went popular when a Twitter user claimed he was the “tallest mallard duck to have ever lived,” at over a meter tall (3.5 feet). In reality, he’s a typical Indian Runner duck, with a size range of 26 to 32 inches.
